You need egg whites and cream of tartar for icing, but that look like it worked out for you, but I use traditional recipe for perfect sugar cookies and other stuff you may want to use for all icing but for you your own

You don’t need meringue powder. You can make icing from scratch using egg whites.

Just an fyi for you guys if y’all wanna be really precise, 1/4 of a cup is 4 tablespoons, so 1/8 of a cup is 2 tablespoons

I tried it once with the meringue powder it was vile. I had to throw it out. It tasted so bad. I just use some lemon juice and two eggs and whip that up and then throw in the powdered sugar. That meringue powder was so nasty tasting!
