@tiktokin.mama: Turns out having 17 different “systems” for staying organized is, in fact, not a system! Our @Skylight Frame calendar has become the command centre of our house. Everyone knows where they’re supposed to be, I’m no longer the keeper of ALL the information, and it conveniently doubles as breakfast entertainment for the smallest member of the family! It’s one of those things I genuinely don’t know how we functioned without. #reallifemomandwife #momcontent #momlife #lifewithkids #skylightpartner

I thought being healthy meant getting my body to cooperate with the life I wanted to live. More discipline. More consistency. Push through. Keep going. Then I started actually paying attention to my body. My menstrual cycle. Hormones. Energy. Sleep. Digestion. Stress. Nervous system. Workouts. Hunger. Mood. And I started noticing patterns. That eventually led me to cycle syncing (changing the way I approached food, exercise, work and rest throughout the different phases of my menstrual cycle.) But it grew into something much bigger than cycle syncing. I started paying attention to circadian rhythm, seasonal changes, stress, nourishment, my home, my capacity and my spiritual life. And the question changed from: “How do I make my body do what I want?” to: “What is my body telling me, and how can I steward it well?” That’s really the heart of Living in Rhythm. It isn’t blaming everything on your hormones. It isn’t abandoning discipline. And it definitely isn’t another impossible wellness routine. It’s learning your patterns, supporting your whole-body health, and recognizing that your capacity can change throughout your menstrual cycle AND throughout different seasons of life. God didn’t design our bodies to be machines. And I don’t think health should require treating them like one. 🍂 This Thursday I’m teaching my Fall Rhythm Reset, where we’re bringing together women’s hormones, cycle awareness, seasonal living, nervous system support, home rhythms and faith to create a rhythm for the season you’re actually in. Comment FALL and I’ll send you the details.
