unscented stuff ALWAYSSS if you’re planning to host strangers in your house! you have no idea if those people might have allergies or high sensitivity to certain smells. I appreciate this woman for fixing the problem but I also find it kind of odd that she was using such strong scented cleaning products AND the trash bags??? but maybe I’m just a freak bc my mom owned a cleaning company

i told an owner before that i react to smells and i just told her what i react the most to and her response was “please do not apologize for something you can’t control! i don’t want to just use things you may mildly react to and just push through, send me pictures of the exact products you use and i’ll run out and grab them, no big deal!” i’ve thankfully only had positive experiences, she did NOT have to do that!

I accidentally bought the scented trash bags. I find the smell repulsive. I am not overly sensitive to scents but there is something about the plastic and fragrance together that is kinda gross.

As an air bnb cleaner I personally use oxi free and clear (as I have allergies to certain detergents) I use bleach and unscented trash bags for guests. As much as some people love scented things keeping it basic but clean works for everyone.

As someone who has migraines triggered by certain smells. I try to reach out to a host about 2-3 weeks before my stay. Thankfully I’ve not been met with anyone being rude

Scented trash bags and the detergent on the towels sounds like an allergy. My MIL has this allergy. I can’t use perfumes around her , scented lotions, scented hair products, scented anything. Not even flowers. There is very rare products/hygiene products she can use. She hates it cuz she loves the smells but it bothers her allergies 😭😭

There are some good airbnb hosts left, my sister and her kids went to a Waterpark and booked an airbnb, about a day in to their stay they were shopping for food and a drunk driver rear-ended them and totalled their car, lyckily the host was so kind to go get them and drive them back to the airbnb even tho he didnt need to

I had an Airbnb host leave the place with no toilet paper. I messaged her being like hey sorry where should I look for the toilet paper bc my first instinct was I’m just missing it. She said she forgot to get more and told me to buy some. No apologies nothing. I bought some and took it with me when I left. She messaged me asking why I didn’t leave toilet paper.

I think its awesome of the host...buttt I will say if you are someone that is that sensitive to scents I think it should be something you mention ahead of time as well that way hosts can try and prepare beforehand
