@kenniebukky: 1. I don’t upgrade my lifestyle every time my income increases.Just because I earn more doesn’t mean I have to spend more. Most raises go toward investing, not a more expensive life. 2. I don’t finance things that lose value. If it depreciates the moment I buy it, I think twice before taking on debt for it. 3. I don’t buy things just because everyone online has them. Social media creates urgency around products you’ll probably forget about in three months. 4. I don’t let money sit idle for too long. Once my emergency fund is sorted, extra cash gets put to work through investments or HYSAs instead of sitting in a regular bank account. 5. I don’t rely on one income stream. A salary is great, but I never want my financial security tied to a single paycheck. 6. I don’t leave on the table. Always negotiate my offers. The first offer isn’t always the best or final one. I ask for better salary, projects, brand deals depending on the circumstances 7. I don’t keep all my money in one account. Separate accounts for spending, bills, investing, and savings make it much harder to accidentally overspend. 8. I don’t try to “look rich.” I’d rather have assets growing than spend money trying to convince people I’m wealthy. I don’t say yes to every financial obligation. 9. Every “yes” costs money, time, or both. I’ve learned that protecting my finances sometimes means saying no. 10. I don’t compare my financial timeline to anyone else’s. Comparison is one of the fastest ways to overspend. Someone else’s lifestyle shouldn’t dictate my financial decisions.
