im not saying you shouldn't use ai for code, but its interesting that people don't see code plagiarism the same as art or music plagiarism, even though all code is also someone's work product (that was summed up into ai)

I think you maybe should step back and analyze how you use generative AI. I know you know the difference between AI and generative AI so not making that distinction feels dishonest. Showing a grid of photos and saying that would have been difficult or tedious without AI is a really weird example, I think you are fully capable of putting a line of photos together. I'm not trying to be condescending because I really enjoy your content, but you're aware of how generative AI damages people's brains and you're not immune to it. You are your own person so I'm not going to try to imply that you should follow my morals and draw the line at the same place I do, but truly the examples you showed seem insane to people who don't use generative AI. I can make a graph and I can line up photos, I find it hard to believe you're not also capable. will you maybe explain when you used generative AI versus an AI algorithm?

unfortunately I think this video is going to get to a lot of people who just blindly hate the word ai and anything associated with it without a further thought. The same crowd who hear game devs talk about NPC AI and think they've hooked their game up to chatGPT

People are honestly overreacting to the whole people using AI thing. There are valid reasons to use AI. Like it’s not like a person is a moral failure for using AI. I think people are just so uneducated about AI that they fear it to a level that not healthy.

We are not calling a Matplotib, Plotly ect. AI. these are python libraries that AI uses that have already been established. I think someone is going to get confused that these graphs and processes are AI generated like a gen AI photgraphs. its different, and its something that is entirely possible on a local computer. The AI is creating the python script using an API and giving you an image. Ideally I would like people to understand this tech if they decide to trash it.

you raise a good point. so many people have such a narrow view of what ai encompasses. for instance, the entire tiktok fyp is powered by ai. videos are literally embedded as vectors into a (likely proprietary) latent space and techniques like cosine similarity are likely used to find related videos to push to users based on clusters around what they've interacted with in the past

Y’all hating but I genuinely thought it was good that AI is able to do some things? Ai should help not steal and that’s something I’ve always stayed true to! I just think you have to also say ‘hey AI was used here’, though maybe not for all AI because some is obvious and different from generative ai

If you have enough cashflow to run a small company you could've paid someone on fiver to write that code or yk use those collage creators that are free on various websites and apps i think you generally have good takes on AI but before it existed you would've by default actually tried to work out an efficient way to do it before resorting to the slop machine

I understand that in order to be able to speak on noticing AI you may have to use it in some ways to see how it works and how it might be manipulated. But I admit that I was surprised when you said you are having AI scan AI videos to report on things being said in the videos for your graph because you can’t watch all of the videos. How is that research not part of creative process when the purpose is to report on the claims? And how can you put out the information without being able to rely on its accuracy, knowing that gen AI hallucinates. You talk about AI being a broad term, and that’s true. People are usually talking about gen AI when they are saying it’s bad. But the way you’re describing the video scanning sounds like gen AI not just aggregating data. That erodes trust with your audience who would expect your information is pulled and analyzed by the person telling the information, esp as an AI focused creator

You know, the reason I distrust people who don’t come to the same conclusion as you when trying AI is exactly this. Any person who value humans, what humans can create and their own mind would come to this conclusion after trying AI.

This may be a stupid question but it is genuine. How do you trust the output of AI when you ask it to go through videos and find words/messaging? How do you verify that it has 1) found all the examples of what you’re looking for and 2) not incorrectly made an assumption that a video matches your parameters. In short: how do you know it has done what you want it to do? That’s my fear in using tools. I know humans make errors in research too but human errors feel more “secure”
