i agree we shouldn’t be sensationalizing, or making a case some sort of “mystery” or “plot twist.” but i also think people in the comments saying postpartum psychosis isn’t real, need to stop. postpartum psychosis is VERY real. and while it is no excuse to murder, and doesn’t make the crime any less severe, there are fundamental differences in killing while mentally competent and killing while in psychosis. postpartum depression and psychosis are so incredibly stigmatized, and part of the reason why mothers experiencing symptoms don’t get help is shame. these comments talking about how postpartum psychosis isn’t real, makes women suffer alone instead of getting help, which leads to situations like these, or more commonly a mother taking their own life.

This was just a devastating accident as a result of improper mental health care. I don’t personally believe that either of them wanted to hurt their kids, and I DONT think the killings were premeditated.
