FOR YALL Wondering For anyone wondering, “Why didn’t you just do something?” or “Why didn’t you leave?” — unless you have lived it, it is not that simple. Being in the military while also being in an abusive relationship changes everything. Your career, your reputation, your stability, and even how people view you can be affected by the type of spouse you have and the situation you are trapped in. Sometimes you are not just trying to survive the relationship — you are also trying to protect everything you worked so hard for. People judge from the outside, but they do not always understand what it takes to make it through something like that.

People using Jesus's name to shame you is downright disrespectful. God wants us to love others not bring them down. I strongly believe Jesus would be one of the first people waiting to hug you and tell you how proud he is that you got yourself out of a bad situation and found what true love and happiness is like. There's many Bible verses to back this up one personal favorites of mine is John 13:34: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

I feel your pain. I stuck around in a bad relationship, thinking things would change she would grow up. Things will get better and all I did was cause more pain. I am a male domestic violence survivor, and it cost a life of a woman that I loved.
