@maiden.lifts: As a chronically ill and depressed calisthenics creator I feel it is my duty to give you a *realistic* 5 min workout on my bad days. Sometimes all I can do is this and that’s ok! Even if all you can do is get up and dance around for five minutes you’ve done well. Keep taking small steps towards a healthier you! I was bedridden for many years and had to unlearn the habits that kept me stuck inside my room very slowly. It’s ok if it takes time, do it anyway. 🫶 #calisthenics #autoimmunedisease #depressionanxiety
Genuine question - do I have ANY hope of being able to do calisthenics effectively with carpal tunnel? So many moves seem to involve weight on palms flat against the ground and that is the FASTEST way to make my hands go numb/my wrists start hurting bad.

All of this really depends on what kind of ill and the manifestation of depression, but if it works for you, great!

For all my other depressed people out there that go "this seems doable" but are also not wanting to get out of bed: You can do the first step any way you want! You can do the worm, you can toss and turn around. As long as your heart starts pumping it's game

advice from someone who used to cry about P.E. class: if you don't have the motivation to "get your body moving" play an easy just dance song from YouTube without worrying about the score or anything

As someone with ME… Absolutely not. Glad you are healthy enough to do that, but don’t automatically assume everyone who is ill benefits from movement like this. It can actually be harmful.
