The “duty premium” is supposed to compensate for 100% of unpaid ground hours over 3 years — but at only 50% of the hourly rate. In other words, WestJet wants to pay employees for only HALF of that unpaid work. The other 50%? Apparently, they’re expected to work for FREE. Unpaid work is still WORK. 💯
