I just hate when a certain part of the fandom tries to downplay how diverse katseye is and act like just because manon is not present suddenly the representation doesn’t matter. I’d argue that south asian representation is even harder to find in western media and it’s so important especially with the uprise in south asian hate to have someone like lara thrive on behalf of all of us. the hate she gets sickens me :(

i genuinely can’t even describe how dear she is to me. to have a darkskinned queer indian woman be in the spotlight and receive so so much love and support genuinely makes me cry. i’ve never felt so connected with an idol before, she’s so undoubtedly true to herself and her culture and it fills me with so much happiness. i feel so inspired to just be myself and embrace myself because of her. i’ve never felt so seen and appreciated as a queer indian girl. simultaneously seeing all the hate she’s gotten—racism, homophobia and general bullying—just reminds me the internet is fake because this woman is so beautiful and pure. oh lara raj the icon you are, you’re such a huge inspiration to me.

im not Indian, but lara and her pride in her culture is so dear to me. in a society that constantly makes fun of south asian people and their culture, seeing a south asian woman whos so proud of her culture and always mentions it no matter where she is is so incredibly important
