I have a chewy box that my cat (my baby boy) loved. He passed away 1.5 years ago. The box still sits in my living room in the same spot with the same stuff in it from when he laid in it a few hours before he unexpectedly passed away. I can’t get rid of it. I know I need to. But just can’t. It reminds me of him.

My mom passed away in March…I need to take care of several (like 6) tasks to get things completely settled. I’ve been procrastinating for no really good reason at all. I just need to do it. It’s not even hard stuff I need to do. Mostly filling out forms and mailing them out. Or changing bank info on online accounts. I just can’t make myself do it.

For me, it's going thrand donating my daughter's clothes. I have almost everything she's ever worn. She's almost 8. I had her after 12 years of secondary infertility, and I wanted to hold on to the clothes in case I have another daughter. I have not, and now I'm 40, so this reasoning is getting more and more irrational. I guess I don't want to face that she was my last baby.

hmm something I need to do is deep clean my shower, I just hate doing it lol. I clean the rest of my bathroom weekly but I just wipe down the shower but it needs a good deep clean especially since I dye my hair red 🫣

Well done for getting a great start! Look at all the clean floor space and bags of rubbish. Do you have a weekly rubbish pick up too? Maybe you could add a 2-3 bags into that each week instead of waiting til the dumpster is ordered? Also do you know your neighbours well? Could you ask to add a couple bags to their rubbish bin? Especially if they know you had flooding in the basement? We have done that before after a flooding issue. We brought up a bag each time we came up from the downstairs (stored it in our garage) and then we took a few bags to our parents/ best friends place just to help for a couple of weeks as they had empty bins.

I'm not sure if you're looking for suggestions. Maybe check out local Facebook groups or your neighbors to see if anyone recycles scrap metal who'll take your old hot water heater and washing machine off your hands for free. I was able to get rid of a hot water heater this way.

I truly believe that confronting messes or avoided problems is a muscle and every time you do it you are getting stronger! Please be proud that you got dumpsters and tackled those things that you were doing to survive. Your kids will learn so much from watching you persevere.
