Repeat after me: a laceration itself is dirty. The wound is not sterile. It does not require sterile technique or sterile gloves to repair.

Unless you are in a completely sterile operating room nothing is sterile during a laceration repair. We use to do sutures in the field all the time when I was in the military. Keep the area clean and put a little triple antibiotic ointment on your and it will be fine
