Ya man, just parted ways with a friend of 2 years, started noticing I felt worse after hanging out with or talking to them, not better or neutral, took a few months to really observe this in myself but once it clicked (felt super anxious the day before plans), I called it. We’re no longer friends 😮💨 keep in mind the last 2 times I brought up something they did that bothered me they got defensive and tried to flip the script so I knew I just had to let it all go

This is something thats hard to explain to others. It can take me a long time to regain my peace. I had to withdraw and be secluded about two years after getting divorced. Now I'm very serious about ending relationships at any sign of disrespect and/or negative talk and behavior. I dont have years to spend recovering.

I agree with what you're saying but let's talk about how long it took you to get there and what you went through. It took years for me to finally see just how little I meant to people and how little I was appreciated and because I closed myself off in the villain in the story
