this is my tin foil hat moment, There is some sort of tax benifit for these companies for having unfilled job listings. So they create fake jobs and list them online and make them so ridiculous nobody who wants the job meets the qualifications, and nobody qualified wants the job, or just straight up never have any intention of filling the position.

I had an interview at canes and it was at 7:00pm. I came at 6:45 and I waited like 15min, workers were coming up to me saying “the manager will be out soon just wait.” I waited til like 7:40 and the hiring manager never came out. I just walked out.

gonna warn you right now. DO NOT USE INDEED for filling out applications. indeed doesnt auto correct its hiring pages at all leaving you with only empty jobs or places farther away. and if you dont apply to all of them, they start selling your info to other co.panies leaving you with almost 50 spam voicemails a day

in college, I had an interview for chipotle so I go up and tell them and they say let me go get a manager and apparently she told the manager and I guess the manager went to do something else and just forgot and me being “polite” sat there for over 30 mins before asking if she was coming and the manager was nonchalantly like haha i forgot like oh u have no respect got it

Got an online interview at khols for 10:40 got onto the google meet at 10:38 waited for 20 minutes looked at my schedule again it said the interview was at 11:40 so I waited till 11:30 got back onto the google meet I was setting in that waiting room till 2:00 so I gave up and got a rejection letter two days later. Like if you're going to stand me up on the interview you shouldn’t have even given me an interview

I interviewed at a Culver’s once and they had me come back in for a second interview with the other manager because they do 2 step interviews before hiring and I was all confident and thought it went great and was told to wait for a call and I waited and even called and called and called and then was finally told “yeah we decided to go with someone else” like then why make me waste my time like that when I live 15-20 minutes away and I had to waste my family members times for driving me to these interviews just to make it seem like I’m going to be hired and then not hire me

I got an interview that was like 30 minutes away and I get there interview goes well and as I’m leaving bro says “ I really like you, I’ll refer you to the hiring manager” like ain’t no way. They call be back for a second interview with him and I never heard back after.

I got hired at some local burger/ice cream joint and was pretty excited to start, they seemed excited too. Gave me a shirt and said they would call me the next morning to say when exactly I needed to come in, but it would be that day. Well that day came and went. I called around closing time asking what had happened, they said, "Oh we like to test our newbies to see whether or not they care enough to call to actually show up, guess you didn't care enough." WHAT?! Y O U SAID YOU WOULD CALL M E TO TELL ME WHEN TO COME IN. I found another job the week after that.
