I am a Christian and live in Dearborn. There are strip clubs. Pot shops. Places that sell real bacon. I have lived here 6 years and never heard the call to prayer. Best neighbors ever. Took care of my kids and I when I got super sick. I prefer halal meat now too. Learned and loved a lot here

As a white person living in Dearborn- Muslim people are the absolute best people to live by. They will do anything for others. They believe in community and family and will drop anything to help someone else. People have no idea what they’re talking about.

I grew up and lived in Dearborn the majority of my life. I graduated HS in 2003(Edsel Ford). I saw 9/11 on TV next to Muslim kids who were just as traumatized and more so in the coming days bc the racist assholes bullied them and called them terrorists. Yes the majority of the city is Muslim now. The culture and restaurants cater to that demographic. Its not a takeover, nor have they imposed any rules in govt that are worrisome. Its is Christian nationalism we should be afraid of, not the Muslims who came here to get AWAY from war-torn countries and extremism.

My son is the only black kid in his class . l love my middle eastern community. Especially the women, they are some of the kindest and thoughtful people l have ever encountered They show him show my black son so much love and they share so much of their culture with him. He knows both alphabets. The father's of the children are kind to him. l am personally offended when people speak negatively of Dearborn and middle eastern that reside there. Are there bad people in the community probably but no more than any other. l embrace their culture and people need to take thevtime to get to know them .

My old job had several Muslim employees. Some of them lived in Dearborn and would bring us in the most amazing food. It hurts my heart how people are towards the Muslim community. I was invited to one of their weddings and had a blast. They are sincerely kind and so joyous - we had so much fun together.

My white-ass husband was born and raised in Dearborn. He has been a firefighter/paramedic there for over 20 years, which means he has met 10s of thousands of people and been inside thousands of homes in every single part of the city. His parents are Catholics who have lived there for over 50 years and will never leave. The biggest problem with the city are the ignorant bigots who go there to start problems. The ONLY time I didn't feel safe living there was when a group of right-wing nut jobs came there and were open carrying, walked in front of our car while we were driving and stared us down as if we did something wrong. It makes me so sad to see people spreading hate. I never had a problem with any Muslim there, in fact, the best neighebors I had were Muslims. All this hate and ignorance puts people in the community at risk, including people like my husband who just want to help others.
