Even in anime. People complain about Black characters meanwhile a lot of anime have something to do with white people or at least European. SAO, SDS, Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, Freiren, Black Butler, Bungou Stray Dogs, Hetaila almost every Isekai, there are countless anime with a white American as a foreign exchange student. Speaking of filters, isnt it also hilarious how American, european, and russian countries are shown with no filter and stunning clarity. However, the second they show a Latin, African, Middle Eastern, or Asian country, theres this prevalent yellow filter to make everything look dirty and grungy.
