You know a match loses its fun at a certain point. Fishing for opportunities like that is what makes a game boring, that's not to say it's a bad playstyle, but no one who's played the game for 3-4 years or more likes passive play. Seeing that sequence of actions reminded me of when beast first dropped everyone was so scared to do anything, even a beast user. Anyways it's obvious you did nothing cause you were scared of his gauge activating and he fumbled because he was tired of your passive play, which is also why he forfeited.
