My cat tend to keep her distance from me but she LOVES strangers. We had our bathroom renovated and the construction workers absolutely loved her. They call her their supervisor and foreman.

She knows they're young. We too tolerate asshole behaviour from young animals better than adult animals. A kitten biting and scratching? Aww, kinda cute, they're still learning how to cat. An adult doing it? Ow, stop it.

Those are her kittens lol. Genuinely though, cats do understand the concept of kids, and some cats will actually engage and tolerate them the way they would a kitten. My childhood cat did that to me and my sister, and she taught us so much about consent and boundaries in the gentlest way 🤎 I miss her everyday
