🚨Handling intrusive questions👇 🧠 All of us are different with different limits and boundaries around what we are and aren’t comfortable sharing and with whom. What might feel intrusive to one person may not to another. 💡It’s really important we communicate our limits and boundaries with the people around us to keep us feeling safe and comfortable. This also ensures the other person is clear on our limits- helping us maintain healthy working relationships. ▶️ When someone oversteps our limits we can communicate our boundaries kindly and respectfully. They can’t know our limits unless we tell them. ▶️ If someone is asking you questions at work that feel too personal try saying: “That feels a bit personal. I’d love to talk about work stuff though” “I’m a private person so don’t talk about my person life at work. I’ve got lots of work related things I’d like to talk to you about though” 💡 When someone sets a boundary with us sometimes it can be uncomfortable to hear. It’s a great skill to not get defensive and instead practice respecting it (even if you don’t understand it) and thank them for letting you know. 💬 Have you ever been on either side of this? Share your experiences in the comments 👀 📌 Please be mindful that the perspective offered in this video is generalised and won’t fit every situation so please follow your instincts about whether this applies to your situation.
