I get what you're saying, that this film in the wrong hands is confirmation bias rather than insightful commentary. however, if you're that far down the rabbit hole everything is confirmation bias. but this def doesn't help with that way of thinking.

This movie is like 25% of one of my scripts 😭😭😭 now I have to delete that part and rewrite it because everyone will believe that I plagiarized it from here if I ever get to produce it. I had 2 conspiracy guys who kidnapped a late night tv show host woman, because they believed she was reptilian, and it was discovered at the end of the movie that it was true.

I think that we shouldn't care that much about what conspiracy theorists will think about this movie: they will use anything to confirm their beliefs, this movie won't make anything significantly worse. heck, flat earthers have PROVEN the earth is round by themselves and have simply thrown that out. always trying to cater to the most delusional members of society will just prevent us from making valuable art while not substantially improving anything. instead, we need to focus on the real issues contributing to conspiracy theories: lack of education, social media echo chambers, capitalism, etc.

That’s not how i read it. The paranoia and obsession are the pathway to your own destruction. It’s pretty clear. The fact that actual conspiracy theorists won’t interpret it correctly is kind of their brand.

What I’ve seen so far (from being open minded enough to not discount something as a conspiracy any longer thanks to the EP files) is that there are multiple flat earth models. This one shown in the movie is the “psyop” flat earth model. Most flat earthers don’t actually think that model is what the “flat earth” actually looks like.
