No more bird brain. We in recovery now. 🙂 No pick me, choose me, love me type shit. Stop dating potential. Start dating patterns. Can this person actually meet the standard for the kind of relationship I am seeking? Don’t fall in love with words. Watch actions. Actions reveal priorities, character, and consistency far better than promises ever will. Don’t be so easily swayed by sweet nothings if they can’t back them up. If someone consistently isn’t showing up for you, believe that pattern instead of the excuses. Stop falling in love with who they could be and accept who they’re showing you they are. If they continuously choose not to put in the effort, accept it. Don’t cry. Don’t get angry. Don’t chase. You cannot love, beg, persuade, fix, or heal someone into becoming your partner - especially if they don’t want to grow or show up on their own. You can’t force anyone to change. Find someone who’s already showing up for you. Choose someone whose actions already reflect the qualities you’re looking for. Don’t settle. Don’t give people the benefit of the doubt without evidence. Raise your standards. You are worth it. You deserve the best. Potential means nothing without consistent action. Accept people for who they are and how they consistently show up. That doesn’t mean giving them unlimited access to your life. Boundaries are saying: “I see you. I accept you. I also know you’re not for me. The moment someone repeatedly disrespects you, dismisses your needs, breaks your trust, or consistently makes you feel small… Don’t wait. LEAVE. Pay attention. Take off the rose-colored glasses. Love should never require you to abandon yourself. You don’t have to convince someone to choose you. The right person won’t make you beg for love, communication, connection, consistency, loyalty, faithfulness, respect, affection, or commitment. Love isn’t about convincing someone of your worth. It’s about recognizing whether they’re capable of reciprocating what you’re offering - and what you deserve. Remember this: If someone can’t love you the way you deserve to be loved, let them go. Someone else will gladly give what another person refused to.
