I’m going to be such a debbie downer here but I read something about how Amazon owning Goodreads being the reason it’ll never get updated. It doesn’t make them money and so many users use it as is they’d rather spend $ on more lucrative things. All this to say capitalism is the reason we can’t have nice things😭😩

I never could get into using Goodreads. Too time consuming, too much going on, not worth the time and effort. Same for the other big names. Then Embertale came along and finally gave me what /I/ had been looking for in a book app all along. It’s not a new social media, it’s not AI generated slop, it’s fast and easy to put your books in, and it’s super simple to use. More folks need to check it out instead of begging Goodreads to be anything other than what it is (which is fine for some folks I suppose).
