Guten Morgen 🌻#fyp

“I’m alone.” “I’m right here too.” That might be the simplest description of early motherhood I’ve ever heard. Because if you’ve been awake at 3:18am with a baby on your chest, you’ve probably felt both of those things at the exact same time. You’re sitting in a dark nursery. The rest of the house is asleep. Your phone says it’s the middle of the night. Your friends aren’t texting. Your family isn’t awake. Your partner might be sleeping because they have work in the morning. And suddenly your world feels incredibly, painfully small. It doesn’t matter if you live in a tiny apartment or a house full of people. Loneliness has very little to do with how many people are physically around you. It has everything to do with whether you feel understood. That’s why those overnight hours hit so differently. You’re exhausted enough that every emotion feels bigger. You’re isolated enough that every thought echoes. You’re trying so hard to do everything right that every tiny setback feels enormous. The baby won’t latch. Or they won’t stop cluster feeding. Or they finally fell asleep…until you transferred them. Or you’ve been rocking for an hour and they’re still crying. In those moments, your brain starts telling stories. “Nobody else is awake.” “Everyone else has figured this out.” “I’m the only one struggling.” But here’s what’s actually happening. Across your city… Across your country… Across the world… Thousands of moms are sitting in rooms that look almost exactly like yours. Someone is warming a bottle. Someone is pumping. Someone is bouncing on a yoga ball. Someone is crying quietly so they don’t wake anyone else. Someone is whispering, “Please sleep.” Someone is scrolling because they just need another adult voice, even if it’s through a screen. They’re not living the Instagram version of motherhood. They’re living yours. The real one. The one with spit-up shirts. Cold coffee. Messy hair. Baby wipes everywhere. The one nobody posts enough about. That’s why we built Beacon. Not because moms needed another social media app. They needed proof. Proof that the sentence “I’m alone” isn’t actually true. Inside Beacon, moms can turn on their beacon while they’re awake. Every glowing dot on the map is another mom who’s up too. Not because she’s failing. Not because she’s doing something wrong. Because babies wake up. Because motherhood doesn’t stop when the rest of the world goes to sleep. Some are feeding. Some are pumping. Some are pacing the hallway. Some are holding babies who only sleep on their chest. Some are simply trying to make it until sunrise. You don’t even have to say anything. Sometimes just seeing those lights changes everything. Because loneliness loses its grip the moment it has witnesses. The beautiful thing about motherhood isn’t that we all have the same experience. It’s that we’ve all had moments where we desperately needed someone to quietly say, “I know.” “I’ve been there.” “I’m awake too.” Maybe that’s why community matters so much after having a baby. Not because it fixes sleep deprivation. Not because it makes diapers easier. Not because it magically removes anxiety. But because it reminds you that suffering feels lighter when someone else is carrying a piece of it with you. So if you’re reading this during a midnight feed… Or while rocking a baby who refuses to sleep… Or while pumping for what feels like the hundredth time this week… I hope you remember something. Somewhere tonight… Another mom is thinking she’s completely alone too. She isn’t. Neither are you. Sometimes all it takes is seeing one light in the darkness to remember that dawn is coming. And sometimes… You get to be that light for someone else. 💛 #mom #baby #MomsofTikTok #momtok #momlife
