literally just dont. its hot as shit, everything is expensive, jobs that pay livable wages are hard to find, everything is a 30+ min drive to get to, the laws are terrible, data centers going up, etc..

I guess I’ll be the one to actually help you. About 30-60 minutes outside dallas you start to get more rural. Pending your budget Frisco, Southlake are big money and nice. Plano, Richardson and nice and closer to town. Rockwall and Royse City is nice but the traffic is horrible, like absolutely awful. Forney was nice but is a bit dicey in certain neighborhoods. Mesquite and garland are starting to revitalize and get a bit nicer. West is ft worth and is more laid back, they hate dallas but dallas doesn’t even remeber they exists 😂

You don’t want to live in the DFW, it’s not all that great of a place. I would recommend a different state entirely. Colorado Springs was extremely nice. DFW was nice 25-30 years ago

I’m Michigan and this place is terrible - just one big concrete prison. Seriously stay away, I am only staying here for a year to get training for work and 4 months in I’m already counting the days

Sorry for all the negative comments, I was born and raised here and it’s genuinely an amazing place. I highly recommend McKinney, or the surrounding areas. They’re putting an airport in McKinney, but it’s also not a bad drive to dfw airport (30-40 min). I don’t recommend Frisco or Plano as it’s very over crowded there. I also lived in the Fort Worth area for a while and loved it! The metroplex is huge so definitely take into consideration which area you’d like to visit the most. The traffic can be bad, but it’s not as bad as Houston or LA. Feel free to message me if you have any questions! - A local

I live in Lake Dallas and love it. I am between Denton and Lewisville and the population is only about 7,700 but there is a lot around so finding anything you want within a reasonable drive is easy to do. Depending on your budget, I would say Lewisville, Highland Village, Argyle area.
