Kiwipop, the app that helped simplify our credit-card payoff journey, just launched an update, and one of the new features is Intelligent Roundups. The feature is designed to turn activity on credit cards you already have connected into small extra payments over time. As transactions happen on those connected cards, Kiwipop receives updated balance information throughout the day and estimates the purchases that happened. It applies a small roundup for each estimated purchase. When the estimated roundups reach $15, the selected checking account is debited and the amount is applied toward credit-card debt. You can choose whether those payments follow the avalanche method, the snowball method, or go toward a specific card. To be clear, this is not a reason to use credit cards more or spend more. It’s simply one possible layer for someone who already uses connected cards and is working toward paying down debt, if it fits their budget and payoff plan.
