Yeah, she bought the ticket for her son to have a seat that gentleman had no right to kick him out of it. That’s a disgrace from the airlines and that passenger I would be suing the crap out of them for real.

United, not at all surprised. 25 years ago we bought a seat for our 2 year old between me and my husband. The stewardess told us our child was too young to have her own seat and we needed to put her on our lap. yes we had a paid seat for her. We were threatened to be kicked off if we didn't comply. One week later they fully reimbursed all 3 seats round trip and got 3 round trip vouchers. They were total jerks but got satisfaction in the end. We were traveling from Boston to Bozeman Montana. Just came back from the Bahamas and during our layover I heard an announcement that the airline overbooked and was looking for 15 volunteers to give up their seats. The incentive was $1500, transport to a hotel. Reason I’m saying this is why do the airlines continue to be allowed to take people’s money and then leave us screwed. Like we are to be ok with this. My fiancé was shook because it was his first flight and international flight. I told him we’d hear some yelling or screaming soon. About 45 min later; they were calling for security. It’s not right that they charge us out the tail, cram us like sardines and dump the ones they choose for their bottom line. It’s not right.

Apology not accepted flight attendants need to stop this those seats were paid for. Refund wouldnt of made this any better. It should never happen.

Nope, something about this is not adding up. Did she really pay for a seat or was she hoping the seat next to her would be empty and her son could sit in it? I want to know the full story here. I wanna see proof that she paid for the ticket because there’s a good chance if her son is under age, she did not pay for the ticket and thought he could fly for free in a seat that was looking empty until it wasn’t.
