People are upset that they’re making him look like a “villain,” but I don’t interpret it that way. I think it’s showcasing the psychological effect of doing this type of work, which requires him to be ruthless when dealing with these kinds of people. And from their perspective, that’s exactly how they viewed him, an absolute nightmare come true. I think they did a really good job portraying that.

I don’t necessarily think they’re trying to demonize Chris Hansen. I think they’re making a play on how a predator would see him kind of like in a “The predators, Predator” type of way, plus Chris Hansen himself admitted he would’ve liked to keep the show going, but it was leading him to some pretty dark places mentally

people can't accept that a person can have actions that are morally right but also wrong at the same time. Chris hansen exposed them but he is literally the reason most of them didn't go to jail. The movie will delve into the reality of the show and the behind the scenes of how the shows success effected Chris and it will also show the downfall of the show and the incident that led to it being canceled.

Ok a ton of misconceptions in the comments it’s true that yes Chris had a huge ego but it’s also true he definitely cared about catching predators and a second misconception is while yes many predators got to go free from the show 75-95% of the predators shown in “to catch a predator” did get convicted

This show became about entertainment and numbers. The majority of the predators he "caught" were never persecuted meaning real justice didn't happen. Yeah they were embarrassed on national TV and ridiculed but that was the extent of it.
