@nivek_pro: Could the problem with the Jetour gas guzzling be the octane fuel? Maybe the engines are tuned for higher octane??? Let me hear your views. #jetour #dashing #fuelefficiency #chinesecars

Alright so here's what's up . 1.youre supposed to use 90 any turbo charged engine should use 90. 2. The vehicles are HEAVY, with the T2 being almost 2 tons. That's a lot for a 2.0l engine to carry hence the fuel economy. 3. This isn't uncommon for gas mid sized SUV's a simple google search will show you that even the glorified Rav 4 crv and Tucson don't have much better fuel economy. I think a lot of ppl complaining are first time car owners or are coming from smaller vehicle platforms. Jetour makes excellent vehicles in my opinion and we should actually do research into them

90 or 87 don't determine how the gas is used. The car's computer doesn't know the difference. When you push on the pedal, you only control the air that's let into the engine, the computer determines how much gas should be injected into the cylinder to mix with that air. so its all about the way the car was program to use gas. all everyday car built to use 87 Or 90 doesn't change gas consumption or give more power. Engine makes the power and the transmission determine what it does with it. its all about the program. and if its an old car using excessive fuel, need to check the oxygen sensor (fuel ratio) or AF sensor.

The 92 RON is the manufacturer’s octane rating system. This translate to Jamaica’s E10 90 gasoline based on requirements (you can look up the conversion). 92 RON covers ranges of 90 to 92, we have 90 as baseline. Using 87 will cause premature ignition and is below the baseline. 93 is even better to use but 90 is more cost effective

Could you pin this comment to inform your viewers. Firstly , it takes two standard engines to test gasoline. Research Octane Number engine (RON) and Motor Octane Number engine (MON). RON 91 is actually E10 87 gasoline or 87 AKI which we see at the pump whereas RON 95 is E10 90 or 9O AKI. Some manufacturers will state only the RON whereas others will state both the RON and the Anti Knocking Index (AKI) , the number we see at the pump. Some will even take it a step further and breakdown how they get the AKI we see at the pump by putting in brackets (RON + MON)/2 or (R+M) / 2. So to conclude: RON 91 = 87 gasoline, RON 92= 87 gasoline ( can be 88 depending on the MON rating) , RON 95 = 90 gasoline.

the engine is tuned on 95 octane.. and also note the fuel quality in China is much better. their premium is 98..so u definitely have a point there...

When it comes to cars you gas consumption is going to be dependent on your the size of the engine and the weight of the car. If you have more passengers in the car you will burn more gas. If you drive with a bag of junk in your car you burn more gas. If you don't have the right tires or the right amount of air in them it will burn more gas. Type of Gas, maintenance and driving habits is also a factor.

I just think the engines are too small for the size of the car. There are other small SUVs like the MG zs with a turbo charged engine that are more fuel efficient. But the weight is about 300lbs less.

Why don't they make a diesel variant though for the bigger units it may cost a little more but diesel do well in heavy big vehicles.

87 is no more flammable than 90 90 gas is more resistant to self ignition so its for the heigh compression cars

It's the weight of the vehicle with the underpowered engines. Nothing to do with fuel grade.
