When Waylon Jennings talked about "sitting on" George Jones, he meant physically pinning a wildly intoxicated and combative George Jones to the floor to stop him from destroying his house, which led to George sucker-punching him the moment he let up…. The Setup: Waylon recounted that George showed up heavily intoxicated ("four sheets to the wind") while Waylon had been awake for days on a bender, creating a chaotic "blind leading the blind" scenario…George started throwing things and acting belligerent, threatening to wreck the house…. Waylon had to resort to using a belt to completely hog-tie Jones to restrain him further, cementing one of the most legendary, hard-drinking folklore tales in outlaw country history….
