My sweet big boy is weeks from turning 14. I’m watching him fade with a critical eye. It’s so unfair that we have to be the one to decide. For now, he is slow to get up, & quick to flop down. Appetite comes & go’s. But he loves to be wherever the grandbaby is & to assume “guard duty” - not sure we are “there” yet, but it’s looming, & my heart is breaking.

I had to put down my chihuahua a month ago. He was 17. In only had him for 4 years, a roommate left him behind and told me to take “it” to the pound. I can’t believe a little elderly toothless dog could have such an impact in such a short amount of time. I miss him so so much. I don’t think I’ll even have another dog…

3 years ago I said goodbye to my heart dog, my hearing assistance dog, at 16 years old. I had him since he was 10 weeks old. My heart is still broken. :(

My forever dog passed Oct 2024. And I still cry. When life gets really hard I still talk to him. He definitely saved my life many times. I wish I could repay him.

He's only 3 but the idea of ever losing him devastates me. He lays in front of my bedroom door until I wake up. Even if my husband is up first. He still thinks he's a lap dog. He's my daughter's pillow. If he isn't next to me, he's with her.

I only had mine for 3 years. I miss her so much. I think when our last two finally pass that will be our last dogs. I have my short tailed mini house panther. Unless one just shows up again .
