The father is a saint and should be appreciated. Many men would never do what he did. He loved his wife so much that he not only forgave her for cheating, but he went the extra mile to raise and love another man's son.

So basically his white mother and her white husband loved him enough to keep him. However, going thru the adoption process makes me think that was the only way for the couple to not be stigmatized by their community due to the wife’s affair with a black man.
