It’s not a mystery why we’re terrified of death. It’s biology. Every animal fears death. Imagine how fast the species would go extinct if they didn’t. You’re SUPPOSED to be afraid to die..it’s how you stay alive.

We don’t wanna die because we don’t wanna lose our identity, but the deeper you go into psychology the more you realize that identity is an illusion of the mind itself. So there’s nothing promised, there’s nothing that stands forever. Even the me from 10 years ago is not the same me from now. And the me in 10 years will also not be the same me that it is now so therefore, nonexistence can’t be that deep

I understand and know that after I die it will be like before I was born, nothing. But what scares me is that after I die I will still be and feel nothing, but I will know that I have lived. I’m scared that I will know that I had a life and a body and now I don’t, but I know that that probably won’t happen since I won’t have an active brain to understand that I’m dead and that I will never live again
