The name "Alhambra" itself is derived from the Arabic words for "the red fortress," aptly capturing the warm hues of the palace walls that glow at sunset.⁣ ⁣ Today, a lot of the original palace still remains, allowing visitors to explore over 35 acres of ancient history, lush gardens and Moorish architecture.
