First things first. Why are you an avoidant personality. Many avoidants suffered from parental neglect as children, so you become self sufficient. You take control of your emotions and hide vulnerability. What are your emotional triggers. Can you let yourself be vulnerable to another human being. Can you trust another person ? Finally, as we grow up and learn through life experience, we become more world weary and cynical, so we look for the things that bring us joy, that we can control and put our trust and love into. So to find love means you have to become vulnerable. Can you be vulnerable , and can you take that leap of faith?

I also need my alone time sometimes after a full on day. I think people who don’t run their own businesses don’t understand the pressures of business and this is the problem. I am holding out for a fellow business owner for my next serious relationship to be honest. x

I can be both. Not at the same time. I don’t think I’m that unusual either. I’ve read that people can be either depending on the relationship. Sometimes I’m secure as well usually when the person I’m dating we are equally attracted to each other and they are secure in themselves helps me to be and feel secure. I’ve been an avoidant a lot when people chase you too hard, or want you all the time and are obsessive, I too have been anxious attachment and that’s with a very unstable immature avoidant situationship.
