I must value a pretzel more than two glasses of water, so I would be able to satisfy myself. Because people also want something for return and seek to increase their satisfaction, you must value my two glasses of water rather than your pretzel. In both cases, the resources are misallocated, that is, they're in the hands of people, who value them less, and the opposite party. After the exchange, the resources are being allocated correctly, where property gets an owner, who values this good more than their previous owner.
