Yess! I read like at MOST two books per month! I sometimes feel the pressure from some that read lots, but then again I really get into the books the more time I spend!

agree with the not reading everyday, i dont even like the tips some people give to get out of a “reading slump”. its not a slump, youre just not interested in that at the moment and if you love it the want for it will come back soon, you just gotta give yourself a break even from things you love sometimes.

couldn’t agree more with the annotating one, the only time i write something into my books is when i translate a word/expression to my native language😭🤣

Thank you so much for your video!!! Social media changes people view on book, it became nothing more than a trend.. You don't need to read 20 books a month, annotate your book or anything..

I completely understand. Sometimes, after reading two books in a row, my mind feels overwhelmed and exhausted, even if the books are good. I need a few days without reading before starting the next one. I have to process and clear my mind, or I won't enjoy the following book.

I read as much as I can and I can’t keep up with people reading ten or more books a month. Like what do you for a living? 😭😭😭 I work from home and I get plenty of time to read in idle times at work. And I still work 40hrs+ at week and I write down my thoughts, try to workout every other day and have a toddler and a husband and a house and pets 😭😭😭 like hooowwww do they do it all?! I can’t and that’s ok.

I am so glad to hear you say this. I read 1 - 2 books per month and savour them. It isn’t a race. Reading should be enjoyable. Not a chore.

I’ve never been a reader. Annotating has been a GAME CHANGER for me, I was never able to retain ANY info while reading. Now I’m knocking out 500-700 page books like it’s nothing lol. It also allows me to immerse myself in the story. Everyone has their own style and process that works for them. :)

YES YES YES! I fully made this book account because I want to be an example of an average/normal reader that doesn’t turn it into a competition. My goal for the year is only 25 books. That’s 2/mo. I mainly only have that goal to make sure I’m reading somewhat regularly.

I feel like the people that have a whole ecosystem for annotating are hella performative cause me if I like something in a book or something that resonates with me then I highlight it or underline it that’s all

completely agree with all of the above!! especially the simple books rather than the very dense or plot forward books, there’s a lot of quiet beauty in their reading experience!

Quality over quantity should honestly be the whole point, not how fast you can get through a stack. This is such a needed reminder🙌

Indeed! I read 2-4 books per month depending on the thickness. If its thin, i could read 3-4 books. I even havent finish 800 pages book that i’ve been read these past 2 months. And if the weekend is really slow i could read a 200 pages book in 1-3 days!

I read for knowledge and enjoyment, big on taking your time with a book to really take it in. I’ll never understand the people that only care about the amount of books they’ve read in a month and add pressure to reach a certain number. They’ve essentially turned reading into a job and it sounds exhausting.
