As a former preschool teacher, I can almost guarantee there will be at least one or two kids that will adopt her as their quiet friend and help her out and engage her in things. We always had at least 1 kid who had some sort of neurodevelopmental condition and was quiet and/or delayed in speech, and the senator preschoolers would call them cute and act like big siblings and help out the junior preschoolers who needed an extra hand or who were quiet. She’s going to do great, and she’ll have lots of friends with the other kids and the teachers

Dropping off a special needs kiddo just hits harder because we’re extra protective of our special needs kiddo. But we have to trust in the teachers and chuck will have a blast I bet she’ll be going full days sooner then you think.

Oh sweet Chucky! She’s ready mama!! I remember leaving my autistic daughter for the first time, I was a mess!! I am still the mom who struggles on the first day and my autistic child is 10, and going to 5th grade (also my last one) and I worry about her and if people will be nice to her!

My autistic son started kindergarten last year, and let me tell you he’s a favourite in his class despite having not been very conversational and only being slightly interested in parallel play. We’re still on summer break but recently ran into two of his classmates at an outdoor play place - they were so excited to see him and talked about how much they missed being able to play. Then quickly whisked him away, and we didn’t see him until it was time to leave (i could see him in the literal sense, he just never came back to us for anything because he was busy playing)
