that explanation of higher AOA forcing “more air” downwards is completely wrong. A higher AOA creates more lift because the air ABOVE the wing is “turned” more around the airfoil. This increased turning accelerates the air more which decreases its pressure therefore creating a bigger pressure differential between the bottom and top of the wing. Therefore more lift is created. Has absolutely nothing do with “more” air. That’s not even a true statement, it’s the same amount of air
