Despite everything he’s going through, this gentle boy remains sweet, tolerant, and affectionate. 💔 X-rays revealed that the end of Mello’s penile bone has fractured off, and he also has a puncture wound to the tip of his wee wee. He is currently dribbling urine with occasional 🩸 and needs continued medical care, pain management, and evaluation by a veterinarian to determine if surgery will be needed. Without follow-up treatment, he could develop life-threatening complications, including urinary obstruction and tissue damage. Even through his pain, Mello is still eating well and quietly enduring his discomfort. Shelter staff describe him as quiet and low-energy, but when they stopped to pet him, his tail wagged.
