@ellistonpediatrics: Putting your newborn in direct sunlight isn’t the answer. Babies have delicate skin and can burn or overheat quickly, so stick with shade and protective clothing; if jaundice needs treatment, medical phototherapy is the safe, controlled option. . . . . . . #Baby #ParentingTips #NewbornCare #Pediatrics Best NYC pediatrician Tribeca pediatrician UWS pediatrician UES pediatrician Brooklyn pediatrician Flatiron pediatrician

Dr here, you can sunbathe your NB but not in 12pm sunlight or letting them sleep in the sun, too much exposure. The 7-8 am sunlight are the best and less than 5 mns per day is sufficient.

My daughters level was around 4 when we got discharged, dr told us just sit in the windows and let the sunlight hit her a few times a day. By Monday at her first ped appt her level had jumped to 17 😅 we ended up getting admitted for phototherapy.

yeah it's super good to keep your baby outside in the sun but not directly in the sun like in a baby carrier in the shade but outside in the sun

if they are jaundice you be told for them to tan. and if it doesn't work they put them in uv incubators. three out four my kids were prescribed son only one was born in the summer and laid outside. my others had to lay in front the windows on blankets because it was winter months.

Advice help jaundice, but you don’t have to stick them directly in the sun like that

We put his bassinet on the side of the room where the light from the bay windows could reach him. It was perfect for him.🩷
