Great if power outage and or sump pump fails,.. but what happens if working sump pump cannot expel water quicker than water coming into sump basin. This is the problem many home owners experienced during recent severe rain storms in Niagara

A better solution is to install a backup sump pump that operates on your house water pressure. It needs no power to run.

Nice backup system, especially if the power goes out the sump pump is still working.

Adding a secondary pump would be even more efficient. If your main pump fails (no power or mechanical failure) you’re backed up by your secondary.

I’d get more than one battery. You may get 5 to 8 hours of continuous run time on one battery if it’s a bad flood.

My concrete and drain guy always sets up a second overflow basin beside the first basin. The second basin has its own pump. This way the homeowner is also protected from mechanical failure if the first pump in the first basin fails. Your set up is great but you are not protected from pump mechanical failure.

When the 4” big O comes in faster than the 2 inch going out it looses because the road fills up onto halfway up my lawn the city blames home owners when the city has restrictors which they never lift out or clean up the hole basin.
