@two.houses.into.one: This is what ‘Rich’ means for us… It was my uncles funeral yesterday, and we’ve been reflecting on what’s important in life. And those little moments that seem insignificant at the time, but later mean so much to us. And it got us thinking about what it means to be rich. We know it looks different for everyone, for some it’s money, for others it’s time. We used to think it was money until the kids came along, now for us it’s family. Quality time spent with our family. Hearing our kids laughter on an evening from being sprayed with the hose pipe, or being able to take our daughter and pick her up from school everyday. Having every Wednesday ‘off’ so we can spend time with our son whilst we’re still his everything. And being there for our daughter’s first years is worth more than any amount of money. Don’t get us wrong, it definitely helps, but we’ve stopped chasing it like it was everything (especially Liam). We’ve started appreciating the small things more, the everyday things that we take for granted. A hot shower, a nice coffee together, family meals with food on the table. Time spent with our parents, aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends. That’s worth so much more than any number in a bank account. What do you think? Have we got it right, or have we got it wrong?
