Or you can be accountable for what you have done and try not circumvent the whole point because you don’t like that other people were around. Sometimes the action needs to be checked in the moment regardless of circumstances, not saying what you’re saying has no validity but it’s not black and white.

If it’s something between you and that person . Like relationship, friendship , family , believer of same faith (brother /sister) etc. things that are private that’s not on public display. Matthew 18:15 “Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.”

even if you are a stranger to someone, you correct people in private. People that need to correct you in public, aren't doing it to better you, they are doing it to humiliate you. People that do it in private are people doing it soley for your betterment.
