I was driving with my two kids to meet up with my dad at his chemo appointment and we got hit by a drunk driver on the highway(he was estimated going at 130) and we flipped 5 times and landed in a ditch on the side of the highway. I passed out from hitting my head on the steering wheel because the air bag in it didn’t go off. My oldest at the time was 4 they somehow unbuckled themselves from their car seat and unbuckled my 1 year old and grabbed my phone to call my dad. My dad left his chemo appointment and turned a 30 minute drive into a 10 minute drive and pulled me out of the car all before emergency services showed up. My dad passed away 6 months later from that cancer.

I made a 25 min drive in 10 when I got the call from a man on my daughter's phone saying he came across the accident and I could hear her screaming mommy in the background. worst feeling of my life

My brother called me at 4am to tell me that my mom had collapsed at home and was being taken to the ER. The hospital was 30 minutes away, I made it in 10. I was by her bedside when she passed.

I live in Puerto Rico and once at 6 in the morning I went on the highway doing twice the speed limit because my 9 month old baby was having an allergic reaction so bad her face disfigured, I called 911 to let them know and see if I could get a police escort and they said they couldn’t do anything because there weren’t enough officers on the road

Took me 10 minutes to make a 30 minute drive when a stranger called me from my daughter's phone to tell me she was in a really bad accident. I'm disabled. Had to park a little bit away. I was hobble/running down the street to get to her when an EMT saw me and helped me

a taxi driver saved my life, basically I was having chest pains and called a taxi to take me to A&E as an ambulance would be an hour. The taxi was at my house within a minute and when he saw i was having chest pains he drove over the speed limit and went through red lights to get me to A&E. As I walked into A&E I collapsed from cardiac arrest but I survived to tell the tale. if I was any later I possibly could have died so yes the taxi driver was my life saver.

My brother had a severe TBI and a brain bleed after a long boarding accident. He was lifeflighted to the brain trauma center 2 hours away from him. I beat the helicopter by ten minutes and our parents by 40. I do not want to admit how fast I went. I didn’t want him to die alone. His stupid thick caveman skull and excellent blood clotting skills saved his life.

*not an accident* my abusive ex was stalking me and chased me home. I called my brother who was a hour away. He made a hour drive in 20 or less. Beat the cops who came 40minutes after I called them.

I was in school when this happened. My younger sister got in accident. It wasn’t her fault. I can’t answer my phone and was packing up my stuff. I was able to answer once the bell rung. This is why we need our phones in the classrooms at all times and should be able to answer our parents and family just in case

Called my grandma after I got hit and the phone got connected to the Bluetooth radio receiver and I didn’t know (it unplugged and plugged back in and connected during the accident) so she heard the sirens for about 10 seconds before I figured it out, she was already in the car by the time I could hear her. 20 minute drive in 10. I held myself together until she got there, then I cried seeing her

My son called at 2am saying he was so sorry and he had wrecked his car trying to avoid a deer. I jumped up and in my car and got there in 5 minutes. He missed 4 huge trees and rolling in a creek. A 4x4 post from a mailbox went through the windshield. He only had 1 scratch on his hand. Blessed! Of course, after I got there and had him in my arms (he was 18) I realized I didn't have any pants on! Nothing will stop a parent for sure.

this isn't MY story but something I think about offten. My grandmother passed away in a car accident. My uncle was 3 hours away camping at the time, its took that man 45 minutes to get to the hospital and he did make it in time to tell her bye. It'll be 14 years August 25th this year.

These are healing. I got into a pretty bad wreck at 19. I called my mom and the first words out of her mouth were “Is the truck ok?” It was MY truck, she wasn’t even a co-signer on it and I was on my own insurance plan so my vehicle had absolutely nothing to do with her. I hung up on her and called my fiancé (now husband). He was at work about 10 minutes away and his dad happened to be there with him. They made it to me in about 5 minutes. My FIL gave me the biggest hug and asked if I was ok. My own Dad had died the year prior and my FIL was the absolute best. He died last year and I miss him just as much as my Dad.

my dad worked at a wrecker company n I tagged along sometimes to the point nightshift was my 2nd family. I had a white 98 Honda accord as my first car. One night a wreck gets called in and it’s a 98 white Honda accord that got hit head on by a drunk driver, that turned into a fatality call. They wouldn’t let my dad on scene because they thought it was me. I was at work n didn’t hear my phone go off. My heart still hurts knowing that my dad thought that was me in the body bag and for the family of the girl that passed

in January we had just picked up dinner and my dad called to let me know my grandmother needed an amputation on her leg, in the middle of the call we got hit head on while sittin in the turn lane. dad heard everything. parents turned a 30 min drive into a 12 minute drive. sister and her husband got there in 8. sis in law happened to be behind our wreck and ran up the long line of cars to get to us. all 3 of us lived and here we are a little over 6 months later
