Samyra is advocating for a disadvantaged group of people. How is that any different that what Malcom X or Doctor King did? Racism & fatphobia go hand & hand. I agree with that persons claim that, yes, a lot of people who hate Samyra would’ve hated Malcom X & Doctor King. People hate activists until loving them is what’s popular. A lot of people don’t think for themselves, and how they treat Samyra is a perfect example of this.

I think they’re just making that comparison because people call her “annoying” for constantly talking about plus size issues, and people probably thought Malcom and MLK were annoying at the time too for constantly talking about black/civil rights issues. Any type of activism has to constantly be talked about for things to actually change and that can be “annoying.” Especially to those who don’t want those communities to have rights.

i love you and your content but i didn’t expect you to be like this about this type of issue so im very disappointed. i think the person commenting that was speaking in terms of activism and how you have to keep speaking up about issues for to be heard and taken seriously. we aren’t comparing samyra to malcolm x and mlk. we’re comparing her to other activists because that’s what she is. she may not be as renowned as those two examples but she’s advocating for a marginalized group of people whether you wanna accept that or not
