I remember when I was 13 and had my first period, my dad beat me for getting the bed stained with my disgusting blood. At 15 I had my first period spill through my pants accident and when we got home he beat me for that too. Now I’m 19 and abt a couple months ago, I was wearing my bf’s favorite boxers as shorts and his oversized shirt to sleep, hours later he wakes me up so I can go downstairs to eat and as I get up the bed is soaked in my blood and all over his shirt and boxers too, I got so scared and I started to cry as I grab a towel and tried to rub it out he stopped me, took time to relax me, started a bath, cleaned and changed everything, set up a movie with my foot on the freshly made bed, and told me that he’d never get mad at something that comes naturally and isn’t my fault. (I have never felt more blessed).

in my culture if you’re on your “moon time” you aren’t allowed to handle food or medicines (smudge, tobacco) bc you’re too powerful and ppl are supposed to cater to you during that time by bringing you food and doing your chores for you
