I got ripped to shreds during the 2024 election by saying I was progressive but not anti-capitalism. And to be clear, our current form of capitalism is horrible and unsustainable, but I believe capitalism that is fairly regulated is a better system than straight communism or socialism.

May be a bit confusing since a lot of dsa endorsed politicians are just social democrats and would be considered center-left in a lot of Europe

not all progressives are anti capitalists. I think all agree that capitalism needs to have boundaries and rules.

I think of it as progressives want to reform or put more regulations on capitalism while socialists want to replace capitalism with more worker or government owned means of production and communists want to abolish ownership of private property (in this case not your house/car but the means of production). Leftist is an umbrella term for socialism/communism and everything in between but at its base is anti capitalist.
