@levithehuskyrescue: science experiment: can howling dogs damage your baby's hearing? 👩🏽‍🔬DISCLAIMER: This is not medical advice.   I held the phone about as close as the dogs usually are to the babies, and it briefly peaked between 75 and 103 dB. ngl I panicked when I saw the decibel reader go into the red...   But then I tested a loud conversation with my husband... and even that hit the red. I didn't record this because I was tending to our baby but the sound of the babies crying can also peak at 110 (according to the app), and they cry beside each other ALL the time 😅   I'm not totally convinced this phone app is perfectly accurate, but it does help me compare the loudness of different sounds to each other.   The verdict: Our pediatrician wasn't concerned about the occasional howling damaging their hearing, and based on what we found, their howling is just as loud as many other sounds they're exposed to regularly .   Either way, we're still going to continue to limit the babies' exposure to any loud noises whenever we can. We always break the howling up after a few seconds, and encourage you do the same if you have barking/howlings dogs :)   #husky #dogs #dogsandbabies
