@shakuten: If you don't know, here's what I meant (SPOILERS!!!!): So basically, this song plays after James (and the player) had come to realize that he murdered his terminally ill, wife. Prior to this, he had came to Silent Hill to 'find' her because his delusional mind had made him quickly forget that HE was the one who had murdered her. bro has her in the car for years, here's my theory, my theory is the remake's, where the ending you get when James rebirths her into a silent hill entity using the cult's ritualistic practices from the first game, in the ending it was predicted to be successful, afterwards I feel like Maria/Mary came home with him hence the ending where Maria indeed does and she has a cough, and James eeriely said "You better do something about that cough", which confirms the loop, and since Mary is now a entity, she got her revenge erasing James memory each time that's why we see a lot of unresponsive James in silent hill, while even giving him a chance, that's where Eddy and Angela come in to play when ever they see James in the remake they look confused or even distraught because they've seen him before and know they are stuck there, Before offing Eddy he says "You'll soon see James" implying this happened before in his outcome in his favor, but what actually helped James is Laura, Laura indeed was innocent she wanted a mom, that was all, she was immune to silent Hill and just saw a normal dried out town probably had to run from some order cultists but that's about it, the true ending is James accepting finally what he did and leaves with Laura

Akira Yamaoka is a genius for making music like this ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️this song is no lie my favorite song on the OST because there is SOOO many layers! There’s this famous painting of Ivan the terrible and this song evokes the exact same feeling… also it evokes the feeling of the siren’s song from from the odyssey (showing you what you want most but can’t have) which also fits contextually
