This is one of my proudest accomplishments in awhile- a blue cheese olive butter candle Christmas tree 🎄 if you want to know something funny, I first made a butter candle like this with the rosemary, but quickly found out that it is not pleasant to have big bites of raw rosemary. I spent a couple days brainstorming, and figured out that chives would be the perfect way to make the pine tree looking leaves. I started out by making the base with salted butter, blue cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, green olives, and olive salad. Then it took two packs of chives that I cut into different sizes to give depth to the tree. I added the chives to the top at first, then decided to add a couple pieces of sliced olives, some blue cheese, and a few caper berries to make the illusion of having ornaments on the tree. Then I got back to work with adding the chives onto the butter and this took forever but I loved it . I tend to lose track of time when doing projects like this, because it is so satisfying to me. Once all the chives were added to the tree, I decided that it needed a little bit more color. So I added Calabrian chilies and some fresh cracked pepper on top . An important sidenote, when making butter candles is to always make sure to use food grade beeswax wicks. I like to make mine into a little loop, then twisting the bottom because it holds up better when adding into butter. I am so excited with how this turns out, because not only did it look cool, but it tasted delicious 😍😍 #buttercandle #bluecheesestuffedolives #christmastree
